Electric Tower Hosts 22nd Annual Celebration

On December 31, 2009, 60,000 celebrants convened in Roosevelt Plaza to celebrate the 22nd annual New Year's Eve Ball Drop, held at Iskalo Development's Electric Tower.

It is a New Years tradition. Thousands of people, crowding the streets of downtown buffalo, ringing in the new year. Last year, 40 thousand people on the streets watched it, and many listened on 97 Rock. On Channel 7, tens of thousands tuned in to see the ball drop along with the one from Times Square. And now the 20 year tradition will continue.

Mark Croce's boutique hotel at the corner of W. Huron and Franklin streets received a green light from the Buffalo Planning Board on Tuesday. The $19 million development is the latest of several significant development projects on Huron Street since 2002. 

Sometimes one of the saddest aspects of seeing a building renovated is knowing that the general public can not participate first hand in the transformation. Of course we can all look up and see a beautiful building standing in its glory, but what about the inside?

WGRZ-TV, Channel 2, anchor Kristin Donnelly took Western New York on a tour of Iskalo Development’s historic Electric Tower, located at 535 Washington Street in Buffalo’s Central Business District.
